Best Dating App for Guys in 2025

There are over 1,000 dating apps cluttering up the digital landscape, most guys end up feeling like they're throwing spaghetti at a wall and hoping something sticks. Between the endless swiping, ghosting episodes that would make a poltergeist jealous, and profiles that read like badly translated fortune cookies, it's enough to make you consider adopting some cats and calling it a day.

But fear not, I have gone to the hell that is the boiling sea of dating apps (so you don't have to). Here are the actual, legitimate options that are worth your time in 2025. These aren't just the apps with the flashiest ads or the ones your recently engaged cousin swears by - these are the platforms that actually work (assuming you have a good profile and have read our guide)

My number one pick for the best dating app is Hinge:

I can secure a date for every 20-30 mins I spend on this app, easily with 9/10s. Its about 3x-4x more efficient than the next best app. There are a few reasons for this:
  • More up front effort is needed to set up a profile, ie. you have to have 6 pictures and have 3 prompts.
  • The premium option is worth it, you can send a msg with every like you send out
  • You CANT swipe or like as much since the app isn't geared towards that. You can't review as many profiles as quickly as other apps but this also translates to women getting bombarded less than other apps
There are some drawbacks:
  • There is a bug for a lot of users where it shows you the worst profiles first and improves from there. Really reduce your filters and swipe through, and gradually increase your filters from there.
  • Its more "vanilla" relative to other apps, women are more looking for relationships but there are short term options and you can still get casual dates and set ups, just be aware if you are looking for only casual flings.

Number 2 is Bumble (but its a far cry from Hinge):

The whole gimmick of bumble is letting women make the first move (although there are more options now for the guy to answer some pre-selected prompts once you match)
  • There are a lot of babes on Bumble
  • Higher quality matches since women tend to be more selective
But there are a bunch of downsides
  • Messages expire in 24 hours, so check regularly unless you enjoy watching opportunities vanish into thin air
  • A lot of women are window shopping and aren't as responsive / willing to meet on this app
  • Premium options dont feel as powerful

Number 3 is the OG Tinder:

I have noticed a sharp decline in the quality of tinder in the last few years and it continues to go down. The main downside is just the sheer number of fake, scam and OF farming accounts that you need to wade through to get to real profiles. (keeping in mind I live in a major metropolitan city with plenty of women)

That being said the main pro here is that you will still get matches and is still the go to for casual dates and hookups. If you match with an actual girl, she is more dtf. Just be prepared to spend a lot more time swiping and dealing with fakes.

Even the premium doesn't feel as good as it used to, I get like 5x less matches and go on probably 6-7x less dates than Hinge.

Bonus Apps

Unlike other products where a small brand might have a better product, dating apps rely on size and volume of users. The 3 above really are the best apps for meeting women still. That being said, I did try dozens and I mean dozens of other apps and here are a few other bonus ones that are "viable" but in my opinion the juice isn't worth the squeeze:

Feeld:
  • Hard to get matches with semi-attractive women, you can be a male model and your not going to pack your calendar with dates, with this app alone
  • If you do match, women on here are super DTF
  • Is good if you are into certain kinks like BDSM, D/S, etc.
Coffee Meets Bagel:
  • Basically a worse version of Hinge
League:
  • More labor intensive to set up but also too pretentious and snarky for me
  • You can get matches and dates but not the kind of volume I want
  • Women here are less DTF in my experience
My recommendation is look at how much time and money you have. If you are in limited supply on these 2 things - download HInge and focus there. If you have a lot of time and money, then also get Bumble and Tinder and maybe a 4th one for the niche you are looking for.

Happy hunting out there!
