Part 3 - Dating Apps 101
Dating Apps 101: How to Swipe, Match, and Win
So, your ready to download the apps and meet women, excellent. I know a lot of guys who have a mental block with the apps, but regardless of how you feel, the reality of modern times is that dating apps are (almost) a necessity to meet women.
You can filter through thousands of potential matches without even leaving your couch but swiping mindlessly and hoping for results won’t cut it. If you want to stand out and actually get matches, you need to know what you’re doing.
Here’s your ultimate guide to dominating dating apps:
Choose the Right App
Why It Matters: Not all apps are created equal. Each one attracts different types of people and offers unique features. Picking the right one increases your chances of matching with women who fit your vibe.
The Big Three Apps (Get all of these):
- Tinder: The OG. Great for casual hookups or flirty chats, but you’ll need solid photos to stand out. Tinder is simple: swipe right if you like someone, left if you don’t. The quality of the app has declined throughout the years, but I still go on dates and get laid from the app so its still worth using.
- Hinge: "Designed to be deleted." There is a higher index of women looking for “long term relationships” but you will find plenty of casual dating here too. Hinge uses prompts and detailed profiles to help users showcase their personality and is overall a better app than tinder nowadays (imo)
- Bumble: The gimmick with this app is that women make the first move, so it’s “great for guys who like confident, proactive women”. In my experience, you get less matches on this app and women are more flaky on it, but you can still get dates/laid with this one, so also definitely a must have.
I have tried over a dozens of other dating apps like Okcupid, Match, Feeld, Coffee meets Bagle, Her, Happn, etc.
I recommend you stick to the big three and don’t invest time into these other apps as the juice isn’t worth the squeeze. Even if you don’t need to work and are flush with cash, the big three apps can get you meeting a new girl virtually every day and keep you busy.

Key Factors:
- This is a key reminder that if you haven’t completed the steps earlier in this guide (getting fit, getting a decent amount of disposable $ and having good pictures), stop now and go back and do those things!!!
- Men need to pay for premium on the apps, I hate it too, but that’s how it works. Your chances of getting matches and laid, go down DRAMATICALLY when you aren’t paying. The amount of time you are going to waste on the apps isn’t worth the cost of just paying. Sign up for the highest tier in each app and commit to just buying on 3-6 month subscriptions to save some $. Dating is a marathon, you are unlikely to meet “the one” and live happily ever after within a month so just go long.
- Premium options like priority placing, boosts, super likes, etc. do make a difference. They come with the premium option you can sign up for. I personally do NOT buy any additional items while using the apps, they usually refresh every week/month so just use those and it should be enough.
- When using things like super swipes, don’t use them on the hottest women, the 11s and 10s. Use them on girls who are new to the app (most of them will label when someone is new), and girls who are 7-9s. It will maximize your returns.
Here are the Premium Options on Each of the Apps:
- Tinder Plus/Gold/Platinum: These unlock features like unlimited swipes, the ability to see who liked you, and boosting your profile for visibility.
- Hinge Preferred Membership: Gives you unlimited likes, access to standouts, and advanced filters to narrow down your matches.
- Bumble Boost/Premium: Lets you rematch with expired connections, extend matches, and use features like Travel Mode to swipe in other locations.
